Thompson, age 42 of Saranac passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2005 in Saranac. She was born July 30, 1963 in Ionia the daughter of Wilbert James and Margaret Beth (Easlick) Knop. Beth worked in the restaurant business for most of her life. She was well known as a friendly girl with a quick smile. She loved to cook and was good at it. That led to a career as a Food Steward at Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility in Ionia. Beth was known for her kind heart with her elders. She helped her father and special Aunts Jean and Catherine often. Beth loved to swim and be at Spring Lake. She had just completed a new pool to fulfill her dream. Beth was a well loved friend to all. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, in Saranac. Beth is survived by her loving daughters Lindee Thompson of Saranac, Stacey Thompson of Saranac; brother Gary and Lucy Knop of Grand Rapids; sisters Linda Jones of Lake Odessa, Sally and James Logan of Leslie and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1991 and father in 2004. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday at Saranac Community Church with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives Monday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions in Beth's name for her daughters.
