Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 14 Dec 1931

John E. Thomson, a former resident of Ionia, died at his home in Grand Rapids
Saturday morning.  He had been in poor health some time, but the end came
unexpectedly.  His wife was formerly Elizabeth Morgenthaler, sister of the late
Louis Morgenthaler.  Mrs. Thomson died three years ago.  While in Ionia the
family operated a Dollar store in a location near the Regent theater store.

Funeral services were conducted in Oak Hill cemetery.

He leaves a daughter Mrs. Sandford Huldin, of Grand Rapids.
