Ionia Daily Sentinel, 10 Aug 1906

North Keene, Aug. 6. – Thomas Thorn passed away July 31, after six months 
terrible suffering from cancer of the stomach.  He was born in Cambridgeshire, 
England, seventy years ago, and had been married twice.  Two children were born 
of the first union, both sons, one of whom was killed on the railroad at 
Gaylord some years ago, and the other, Will, who lived with his father and gave 
him the tenderest care until the end; of the second union one daughter, Mrs. 
Burch, of Alton.  His second wife survives.  Mr. Thorn had lived in Keene about 
three years and was well liked by all who knew him.  Burial in the Marble 
cemetery Thursday afternoon.  A large assemblage of neighbors gathered to pay 
their last respects to him.  The family have the sympathy of the entire 
neighborhood.
