The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, August 19, 1975

Mrs. Ardis V. Thorn, 55, of 420 Lafayette, died unexpectedly of a heart attack 
Monday evening shortly after admission to Ionia Memorial hospital.  Born April 
2, 1920, in Ionia, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman G. Humphrey.

She attended Ionia high school and also took special dental training.  She was 
employed by Dr. Ralph Moore of Ionia and the past year by Dr. Elroy Kidle of 
Saranac.  She was a member of the First Untied Methodist church and sang in 
the church choir.  She also belonged to the Ionia County Historical Society.

Surviving are four sons Charles Zander of Ionia, Michael J. Zander of 
Woodland, Richard P. Zander of Chula Vista, Calif., William R. Zander of Palo; 
two daughters, Susan Thorn of Ionia and Sonja Zander Thorn of Eagle; four 
stepchildren; 24 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. R. Herbert Miller of Easton 
township.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Myers-Roetman funeral home.  Rev. 
Charles Fullmer will officiate and interment will be at the Easton cemetery.  
A memorial has been established for the heart fund.  Members of the family 
will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and 
Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
