Thorn, Jr., 50, of Stanton, will be at Hull Memorial chapel in Muir at 2 p.m. June 7. Born in Big Rapids May 28, 1923, he was a son of Elmer Thorn Sr. and Bertha Schreiner, and attended Remus public schools. Mr. Thorn died from internal injuries in a two-vehicle accident on David Highway Sunday evening. He was married to Margarita Misner in Lyons April, 1942, and lived in Lansing approximately 25 years where he was a production worker in an automobile factory for some 31 years, but moved to Stanton about four years ago. A veteran of World War II he served in the United States Army medical corps. Surviving besides his wife is one son, Larry Thorn Sr., and two daughters, Mrs. Inez Keusch of Portland, and Mrs. Peggy Patton of Eagle and five grandsons. Also surviving is his mother, Mrs. Bertha Thorn of Eagle; four brothers, Nelson Thorn, Thomas and John of Eagle and Charles Thorn in Florida; six sisters, Mrs. Katherine Ockert, Mrs. Elizabeth McMichael and Mrs. Georgia Cooper of Eagle; Mrs. Lucille Broadbent and Mrs. Virginia Hagadus of Grand Ledge, and Mrs. Marlin Diehl of Remus. Rev. Harold Masinogle of Grand Ledge church of God will officiate at funeral services and burial is in Highland Park cemetery in Ionia.
