Hasting's Reminder - Saturday June 24, 2023

                    George L. Thorp

George L.Thorp, age 89, of Sunfield, MI passed away June 17, 2023 at Sparrow 
Eaton Hospital.

George was born on April 7, 1934 at home, the son of Percy L.and Lucretia M.
(McDiarmid) Thorp.

George was a full-time farmer.he also spent a lot of time in the U.P. of 
Michigan.

He and his wife Mary did a lot of fishing and deer hunting.

On March 20, 1953 he married Mary Wells.They have three children, John,Judy 
(Scott) Coon, Jim (Kim) and three grandsons, Josh (Karla) Ryan, Zachary (Nicole) 
and Nick (Deri) Thorp and three great-grandchildren Lucas and Ty Ryan, and 
Annalise Thorp.

George was preceded in death by his brother, Eric (Bernice)Rice and parents.

George was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge,Scottish Rite and Shrine.

Funeral service was held Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the Sunfield United Brethren 
Church. A Masonic graveside committal service at Sunfield Cemetery will follow 
the service at the church, with a luncheon to follow back a the church.
