Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 17 May 1961

Funeral service for Mrs. Clara V. Thorp, 76, of 406 Forest street was held at 2
o’clock Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Floyd Emshwiller of First Christian
church officiating.  Mrs. Thorp died unexpectedly Saturday morning at her home.

Bearers were Gerald Aikens, Marshall Thorp, Kenneth Thorp, Wayne Winslow, Wilton
Youngs and William Youngs.  Interment was at Letts cemetery.

Attending from away were Mrs. Evelyn Schurr of Breckenridge, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
Thorp of New Paris, Ind., Robert Blackmer of Hubbardston, Darlene Drysdale of
Belding, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Thorp, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Thorp and Mrs. Ethel
Thorp of Sebewa; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Thorp of Clarksville, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Rafeld and Mrs. George Thorp of Ann Arbor, Mrs. Gladah Baker of Lansing, Mrs.
Etola Face of Orleans; Eugene Thorp of Lapeer, Mrs. Barbara Steele of Tremayns
Corners, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Goodenough of Charlotte, Mrs. Max Van Houten and
Mrs. Jessie Wright of Berlin township, Neil Thorp of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Thorp of Grand Rapids, Douglas, Stanley and Harry Emelander of Saranac
and Douglas Stowell of Palo.
