Ionia Sentinel Standard, 13 Nov 1967

Funeral services for Elton B. Thorpe, who died at his home Tuesday evening were 
Friday with Rev. Lester Bailey officiating.  Interment was in Easton cemetery.  
Bearers were Theodore Whitford, Forster Behnke, Richard Slowinski, Albert 
Haist, Carl Slater and Florian Pung.  Honorary bearers were Bert Bennett, 
Richard White, William Vincent, Wayne Winslow, George Pross and George 
Schlappi.  Members of Ionia Moose attended in a group.

Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Williams, Mr. and Mrs. 
Roger Towne of Belding, Mr. and Mrs. Garry Young and Gerald and Mrs. Harvey 
Hilliker of Hastings. Ervin Curtiss and Mrs. Sarah Curtiss and Lois of Saranac, 
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Slater of Clarksville, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Curtiss, Mr. and 
Mrs. Ed Penty, Mr. and Mrs. John Saylor, Mrs. L.W. Stewart of Grand Rapids, Mr. 
and Mrs. John Mills of Jackson, Mrs. Carrie Hawley of Muir; Mr. and Mrs. Don 
Linn of Cadillac; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Stetler and Mrs. Rex Orro of Coldwater, 
Sister Marie Jeffrey and Sister Mary Anthony of Detroit, Leonard Smith of Flint 
and Mrs. Clyde Curtiss of Lake Odessa.
