Freeman Thorpe Passes At Ionia

Was Former Sebewa Resident And Has Two Brothers Living In Portland.

Freeman Thorpe, 60, a former well known resident of Sebewa, died Saturday at 
his home in Ionia after a long illness.  Funeral services were held Tuesday 
afternoon at the West Sebewa church.  Burial was made in the Lake Odessa 
cemetery.

Mr. Thorpe was born in Jackson county, coming to Sebewa with his parents, Mr. 
and Mrs. Gide Thorpe Sr.  He was a carpenter by trade.

Besides the widow he is survived by four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Bertha 
Kneal, Mrs. Melissa Young, Mrs. Iva A. Aickens, Mrs. Alice Bradfield, all of 
Ionia, Guy Thorpe, of Clarksville, and Max Thorpe, at home.  He leaves three 
brothers Gide, of Ionia and George and Bert, of Portland.
