Harold E. Thorpe, 87, of 203 South Parsonage, Saranac, died Friday at Ann Arbor
Veterans’ Hospital.  Born in Saranac Dec. 6. 1897, he was the son of Lewis and
Bertha Sargent Thorpe.  He attended Saranac schools and was graduated from
Ferris State College, in pharmacy, in 1916.  A veteran of the U.S. Navy during
World War I, he was a charter member of the LeRoy Dausman Post No. 145 of the
American Legion and also a life member.

Surviving are a brother, Stanley, of Saranac.

Cremation has taken place.  Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 27,
at 11 a.m. in Saranac Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Pike of Clarksville Bible
Church officiating.  Funeral arrangements have been made by Lake Funeral Home.
