DONALD C. THRAMS

Donald C. Thrams, 61, passed away on Feb. 9, 2014 from a long term lung illness.

Don was a Graduate Metallurgist from Michigan Tech University and worked most of 
his life as a Metallurgical Engineer for General Motors Corporation.

Don had a lifelong fascination and passion for World War I and World War II 
history.He read and accumulated a massive library of books, documents, journals 
and artwork from those eras. He has also assembled, collected and displayed 
intricately detailed replicas of every piece of military equipment used during 
those time periods. Don's other passions included the Detroit tigers, Pistons, 
Lions, Redwings and MSU Spartans and a very close circle of friends and family.


Don was preceded in death by his father, Cliff; his mother,Martha and his 
brother, Richard.

Don is survived by his brother, Maynard; his sister-in-law,Kim; his nieces, 
Thuy, Jan, Patricia. Their families, and a very close extended family of Ron and 
Marlene McDiarmid, Cory McDiarmid and Angie McDiarmid/Secor. All felt very 
privileged and  honored  to have been a part of Don's life and will miss him 
dearly.

Funeral services were held Thursday Feb.13, 2014 at Rosier Funeral Home, Mapes-
Fisher Chapel Sunfield.

36, Sunfield, MI 48890.The family is being served by the Independent Family 
Owned Funeral Home in Sunfield: Rosier Funeral Home.
