Ionia Sentinel-Standard
Mary L. Thrasher, 65, of 11865 Peake Road, Portland, died Monday at her 
residence.  Born June 9, 1924, she was the daughter of Alfred and Marion 
Shotwell Hathaway.  Surviving are her husband Marvin; two sons, David Thrasher 
of Portland and John Thrasher of Racine, Wis.; two daughters, Anne Sluyter of 
Kalamazoo and Beth Cross of Portland; eight grandchildren; and her mother, 
Marion Hathaway of Portland.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 pm from the Portland United Methodist 
Church, with the Rev. Stanley Finkbeiner officiating.  Burial will be in 
Portland Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be James and Tom Allen, Peter Lindberg, Tim 
Parry, Al Johnston and Eldred Spurgeon.  A memorial has been established at 
Neller Funeral Home, the Mary Thrasher Memorial for Portland Band Boosters.
