THROOP, NORRIS W.:

Norris William Throop, 56, of 1206 Yeomans, died Thursday evening at Blodgett
Memorial hospital in Grand Rapids where he had been in intensive care for the
past five weeks.
   Born November 26, 1914 in North Dakota, he was the son of Ross and Anna Fritz
Throop.  He was married in 1935 to Lorna N. Perry in Indiana and was a graduate
of Grant high school.  He was a member of First Christian Church and board
member of Governmental Employees Credit Union.  He was employed at Ionia State
Hospital since 1941 and also operated an eavestroughing and roofing business.
   He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Stanley Covert, of Sayles
Road; two grandsons; mother, Mrs. Anna Throop of Grant; three brothers, Harlin
of Coopersville, Alfred of Freemont and Elmer of Grant; one sister, Mrs. Doris
Murray of Grant.
   Funeral services will be Monday at 2:30 pm at Stone-Kauffman funeral home. 
Rev Theodore Forbes will officiate and interment will be at Saranac cemetery.
