Ionia County News – Thursday 11 May 1950
Mrs. Mattie Thurston, 74, of South Ionia died in Cook Convalescent Home, 
Ionia, Monday, May 8.  She was born in Battle Creek, Feb. 3, 1876 and came to 
Ionia with her husband, Sidney Thurston in 1909.  Surviving is a sister, Mrs. 
Dora Curry of Arizona.  Mr. Thurston died in 1942.

Rev. Paul L. Stewart will officiate at the funeral service which will be from 
Myers Funeral Home Thursday afternoon with burial in Highland Park Cemetery.
