Ionia Sentinel Standard, 5 Jul 1966

Mrs. Ida Thwaites, 88, died shortly after noon Sunday at her home, 422 Center
street.  She was born April 26, 1878, in Detroit.  She was married to Harry
Thwaites, November 14, 1899, in Windsor, Ontario.  They came to Ionia in 1903. 
She had lived at her present address 50 years.  Her husband preceded her in
death in 1928.  Her son Harold died in 1930, and son Howard in 1958.

Surviving are two sons, Melvin and Fred of Ionia; four daughters, Mrs. Florence
Lindholm, Mrs. Ida Speckin and Mrs. Virginia Roberts of Ionia and Mrs. Helen
Owens of Indianapolis, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. D.C. Richardson in Detroit, 11
grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be conducted by Rev. Raymond A. Heine of Trinity Lutheran Church
of Grand Rapids, Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Boynton funeral home.  Interment will be
in Highland Park cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday
evening.
