Howard D. Thwaites, 54, died Wednesday, July 30 at St. Lawrence Hospital, 
Lansing.  Born March 8, 1904, he was the son of the late Harry T. Thwaites and 
Ida Thwaites.  He was associated with his father in the Sanitary Milk Co. 
until he moved to Lansing in 1926.  Mr. Thwaites was employed at the Bank of 
Lansing.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harriet Barber, and Mrs. Betty Jane 
Holingworth of Lansing; one son, Donald G. Thwaites of Lansing, seven 
grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Ida Thwaites of Ionia; four sisters, Mrs. 
Florence Lingholm, Mrs. Ida Speckin, Mrs. Virginia Roberts, all of Ionia, and 
Mrs. Helen Owens, Indianapolis, Indiana; two brothers, Melvin Thwaites and 
Frederick Thwaites of Ionia.  He was preceded in death by his father, Harry T. 
Thwaites and a brother, Harold Thwaites.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 2, at the Gorsline Runciman 
Funeral Home in Lansing.  The Rev. William C. Watkins officiated.  Interment 
was in the Deepdale Cemetery, Lansing.
