Mrs. Tibbitt’s maiden name was Mary Dexter and she was the eldest daughter of the late Samuel Dexter, leader of the colony which settled in Ionia. Mr. and Mrs. Tibbitts have been for more than 50 years residents of Ionia and vicinity, having gone to Greenville in their old age to make their home with a son and daughter. Their earlier home was on East Main Street where now is the residence of E. T. Montgomery. Subsequently they removed to a farm in the Township of Berlin, east of the farm of Hon. Alonzo Sessions, who married one of her youngest sisters. (I believe this should be “west” not “east” of the Sessions farm.) The remains will be brought to Ionia on the noon train Friday and taken directly to Balcom Cemetery for interment.
