Portland Review - Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005 & Ionia Shopper's Guide, Saturday, 12 November. 2005

Joseph Valentine Tichvon, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2005. 
Surviving are his children; Rosemary (Charles) Sochor of Gowen, Richard (Joyce) 
Tichvon of Portland and Ronald (Shirley) Tichvon of Grand Ledge; 19 grandchildren; 
49 great grandchildren; brother, Frank Tichvon; sister Helen (Henry) Kaumuyer; 
brother-in-law, Bernard (Donna) Bala; sister-in-law, Seraphine (Rudy) Arbanas, many

nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday,

November 7, 2005 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Portland, with the Rev. Larry 
King, Pastor presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The 
family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 Bridge Street,

Portland from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, and 3 p.m. Sunday. A Vigil Service will be

held at 8 p.m. Sunday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the

Portland District Library, in memory of Mr. Joseph V. Tichvon.
