Tillison, aged 79 years, died at his home in this village Monday. Mr. Tillison and wife have been spending the winter with their son Eugene at Zeeland. Mr. Tillison returned to Lyons Saturday, his wife stopping in Ionia over Sunday with her grandson, and on her arrival Tuesday morning found her husband lying dead on the floor. The neighbors saw Mr. Tillison on Sunday. It is supposed that his heart failed and he was unable to call for help. Deceased was born at Lyons, New York, Dec. 13, 1832, and removed to Michigan in 1852. He married Catherine J. Haynor July 4, 1853, and settled in Easton township, near Haynor, where they lived until 1892, when they sold out and came to Lyons where they have since resided. Mr. Tillison was a Civil War veteran, enlisting in 1862 at Ionia in Co. K. 21st Mich. Inf., receiving his honorable discharge on account of disability in 1863. He is survived by a widow and two sons. Prayer services were held at the house this morning, and funeral services at the M.E. church, Ionia, this afternoon at 1:30. Interment in Oakhill cemetery, Ionia.
