(Case) Tingley, 96, of Ionia died Feb. 21, 1998 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Ionia. She was born the daughter of A.B. & Frances (Miner) Case on May 21, 1901 in Stanton. She worked for 12 years at the Ypsilanti-Reed factory in Ionia. For 20 years she worked at the Grand Valley Chair Co. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ionia and also a member of the C.C.W. Class. She was an avid painter and she liked to write poetry. She married Sidney Tingley Sr. on Aug. 27, 1953 in Ithaca. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1962. Surviving are: two step-sons; Harold Tingley of Ionia and Gerald Tingley of Saranac. One step-daughter-in-law Margaret Tingley of Rockford. Thirteen step- Grandchildren & nine step great grandchildren. Three nieces: Marian Shipper of Ionia, Patricia Van Norman of Battle Creek and Genevieve Van Epps of Grand Ledge. She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. Funeral and committal services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Cook Funeral Home in Ionia the Rev. James Bennett of the First Baptist Church in Ionia officiating. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery in Grand Ledge. Visiting hours: 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Rich St. Chapel of the Cook Funeral Home, Ionia.
