Tingley, 77, of Ionia, passed away Friday morning at the Ionia County memorial hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. He was born October 3, 1884, in Orleans township, Ionia county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel Tingley. In 1909 he was married to Pearl Harris, who passed away February 26, 1926. He was later married to Marian Case, August 27, 1953. A carpenter by trade, he had lived in Ionia county most of his life. Surviving are his wife, Marian; four sons, Harold at home, Gerald of Cadillac, Loren of Ada and Sidney, Jr., of Ionia; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Reuben of Lachine, Ora of Orleans, Arthur of Ionia and Henry of Belding; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Donaldson of Huntington, W.V. A daughter died at birth. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Myers funeral home, Ionia, and burial was in Highland Park cemetery. Rev. John Tennyson of the First Baptist church and the Rev. William Pixley of South Haven former pastor of the Ionia church officiated. Bearers were nephews: Emery Harris of Barryton, Lemuel Tingley of Orleans, Paul Tingley of rural Greenville and Basil Tingley of Belding.
