Orleans- Martha Leah Tingley, 89, of 5145 N. State Road, Orleans, died Oct. 
30 at the Ionia Manor. She was born March 15, 1897, in Alpena, the daughter 
of Charles and Leah Frinley.

She came to Ionia County in 1912.

She married Ora Tingley on Sept. 12, 1923. He preceded her in death in 1965.

She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church and was a retiree of 
Ionia Manufacturing Co.

Surviving her are seven daughters, Clara Belle Eddy of Hudson, Fla, Ann 
Ladner of Big Rapids, Betty Odette of Ionia, Virginia Lamphere of Muir, 
Helen Cameron of Newberry, Marion Mier of Orleans, Gladys Heald of Orleans; 
four sons, Marvin Wood of Lake London, Ora Tingley, Jr. of Belding, Lemuel 
Tingley of Ionia, Robert Tingley of Orleans; 48 grandchildren; several great 
and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Vernon Tingley.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the St. John's Lutheran 
Church.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery with the Rev. Theodore Voll 
officiating.

The family will be at the Rich Street Chapel of the Montgomery Funeral Home 
Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Memorials have been established for St. John's Lutheran Church and the 
American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
