Tingley, 78, former Lake Odessa resident died Friday morning at the Veterans Administration hospital at Johnson City, Tenn. He had been a patient there two weeks. Born April 5, 1895, in Manchester, Tenn., he came to Lake Odessa when a child and lived there since until the death of his wife Bessie July 6, 1972. He then went to Johnson City to be with his daughter. He was a veteran of World War I serving in France. He was a retired produce dealer and business man in Lake Odessa until he retired to a farm nearby. He was a member of Central United Methodist church in Lake Odessa. Surviving are a son, Robert M. Tingley of Lake Odessa, daughter, Mrs. Joyce E. Durkee of Johnson City, Tenn., six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa. Rev. Marvin Zimmerman assisted by Rev. Sherwood Durkee of Johnson City, Tenn., will officiate. Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
