April 8, 1965 Ora Tingley, Sr. 78, died at his home in Orleans township Thursday morning following a short illness. He was a retired farmer and lived all of his life at the present residence. He was born November 26, 1886, the son of Lemuel and Mary Groff Tingley and attended Piper school at Orleans. Septemberv12, 1923 he was married to Martha Adrian who survives. Other survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Ann Smith of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Versel Odett and Mrs. Robert Mier of Ionia, Mrs. Carl Lamphere of Muir, Mrs. Clarence Cameron of Newberry, Mrs. Howard Colley of Orleans; three sons, Ora Tingley, Jr., of Belding, Lemuel of Orleans and Robert at home; one stepson, Marvin Wood of Wayne and stepdaughter, Mrs. Harold Childs of Lyons; 47 grand and 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ruben of Lachine, Arthur of Ionia, and Henry of Orleans, and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Donaldson of Huntington, Wis. Preceding him in death were a son, Vernon in 1943, also two brothers, Charles and Sidney Tingley, Sr., and a sister, Mrs. Frank Belnap. Funeral services will be at Myers funeral home Monday followed by interment at Highland Park cemetery. The Rev. Marvin Hueller of St. Johns Lutheran church will officiate.
