Ionia Sentinel Standard, 13 Feb 1978

Ernest L. Tischer, 72, of 1441 Houseman, NE, Grand Rapids, formerly of Lake
Odessa, died Friday morning at Kent Community hospital where he had been a
patient for one month.  Mr. Tischer was born November 11, 1905 in Ionia county,
the son of Ezra and Ida Knapp Tischer and attended Ionia schools.  He was a
veteran of World War II and was employed at the Grand Ledge Tile factory in
Grand Ledge.

Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Tischer of Detroit and Audrey Tischer of
Grand Rapids; two brothers Glenn of Coloma and George of Texas.

Services were Monday morning at the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel with Rev. Gary
Evans officiating.  Burial was in Lakeside cemetery.
