Tischer, 74, died unexpectedly Monday night, December 17, at the home of his son, Hillis, of Saranac. A retired farmer, he was taken ill at the home of Henry Geiger where he made his home Saturday, and Sunday was removed to his son’s home. Tischer moved to Lake Odessa from Ohio when he was six years old and had lived in Campbell township since then. His wife, the late Grace Hatton, died in 1938. Surviving is the son, Hillis; two sisters, Mrs. Phoebe Mote of Hastings and Mrs. Laura Short of Lansing; and two brothers, Henry and Alza, of Lake Odessa. The body was removed to the Pickens funeral home where services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Forrest G. Mohr of the Central Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
