Feb. 9, 1923 GAVE MUCH TO HIS COMMUNITY Forty Year Resident of Campbell Dies Friday at the Home of His Daughter Fred Tischer, one of the substantial farmers of Campbell township, laid down the armour of life and passed to his reward last Friday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S. W. Mote. Mr. Tischer had been poorly for some time previous to his giving up, but was able to get around some and was particular about looking after things that needed to be done. On December 7th, he went to the home of his daughter, where he died as stated above. However, everything was done that could be done, even an operation at Grand Rapids could not bring health. Mr. Tischer was a man respected by all who knew him and beloved by his children and grandchildren. OBITUARY Fred tischer, of Campbell, was born in Morrow County, Ohio, Nov. 3, 1843 and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S. W. Mote, Feb 2, 1923, aged 79 years, 2 months, and 29 days. He was united in marriage to Margaret Henney in 1867. They came to Michigan to live in 1882 and settled on the farm where they lived continuously and raised their family of six sons and two daughters. These eight children, with 29 grand children, two great-grandchildren, two sisters and many other relatives and friends survive him. The family circle remained unbroken until the death of the mother, seven years ago. He united with the Brethren Church in 1889, of which he remained a faithful member until his death. Often during his illness of the last few months, he expressed his faith in his Lord and Master and his readiness to go to meet Him. His last words of counsel to his dear ones were, that they too should follow the footsteps of the Master and meet him in the better world. The funeral was held at the U. B. in Christ Church, Lake Odessa, Sunday. Rev. C. H. Zuse preached and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Mourer and Mrs. W. A. Shroll sang, Miss Ethel Voorhis presided at the piano. Burial was at Lakeside. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the friends and neighbors who assisted in any way during the sickness and burial of our father. Also the minister and singers and all who sent flowers. The Children.
