She was seventy-three years, five months and twenty-five days old. Married in 1867 they came to Michigan in the Spring of 1882 and settled on the farm where they have lived continuously and reared their family. The family circle remained unbroken until the death here chronicled. The husband, two brothers, 8 children and 27 grand children survive. On January 14, 1889 she united with the Campbell Brethren Church and from that time to her departure she lived an earnest, faithful christian live. Although sorely afflicted in body during the greater part of this period and at times suffered intensely, through it all she was patient, hopeful and cheerful. Being naturally of a cheerful disposition the deceased was strong in faith, gentle and thoughtful in life, serving her family and church continuously, regular in her attendance at the house of God as long as her health permitted, always lenient and charitable in thought toward others. She was always anxious about the welfare of her household, her greatest desire being that her children might live right and do well. She possessed a strong christian character and invariably impressed for good, those with whom she came in contact. Her going was peaceful. Her trust in God never waned and He sustained her mightly to the end. She died a christian which is the greatest tribute that can be paid to any life. Funeral services were conducted from the Campbell Brethren Church on Wednesday, April 19, 1916 by Eld. C. C. Grisso assisted by Eld. Winey. Interment was made in Lakeside cemetery.
