She had been ill but 10 days, and her condition was not considered serious until the hour of her demise. The remains arrived here Tuesday noon and were laid to rest in the family lot in Oak Hill cemetery, the bearers being A. S. Wright, James Mains, H. M. Lewis and J. T. Webber, Rev. W. H. Thomas, D.D., officiating at the grave. Mrs. Titus was a good Christian woman, a member of the Methodist church and is well known to the older Ionia residents. Her husband’s tragic death occurred in 1867, when the old D. & M. depot burned. She was 67 years of age and went to Chicago about 10 years ago. Her son, Will H. Titus, of Chicago, and two daughters, Miss F. E. Titus of Chicago, and Mrs. Patrick of Ionia, survive her.
