The remains were brought to Lyons Wednesday and the funeral is being held from the home this afternoon. Deceased was born in Rochester, N. Y., June 18, 1831, and came to Michigan two years later. When a young lady she came to Lyons as teacher in Miss Chapin’s Seminary and here met and married John Toan in January, 1861. He home has been in Lyons ever since and by her womanly character and generous disposition she made for herself a warm place in the hearts of the people. She was a member of the Episcopal Church and was interested in every good work. She is survived by four children, Isabel Toan, of Seattle, Susie T. Galarneault of St. Paul, Minn., Bessie Knox of Portland, Mich., and Nan Toan of Lyons.
