She was assisting an acquaintance, totally blind, who had been visiting her, and was leaving, when she fell. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Oklahoma City, and the body will be brought here for burial. Her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Toan, were with her when she died. Miss Toan was born on the Old Toan homestead a mile east of Maple corners 69 years ago. Her father, the late William Toan, was at one time sheriff of this county and also served as state legislature. Dr. Joan Toan, of Howell, is a brother. Subsequent Publication: Thursday, March 19, 1936 The body of Miss Maime Toan, who died recently at Oklahoma City, arrived in Portland this forenoon and funeral services were held this afternoon at the Bandfield funeral chapel in charge of Rev. W. E. Doty. Burial was made in Portland cemetery.
