She was preceded in death 13 years prior by Robert (Bob), her husband of 47 years. Marilyn was born in 1925 in Burlington, Iowa and grew up in Manistee. She attended college at Central Michigan University and Calvin College and attended Nursing School at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was a practicing Registered Nurse until a few years after starting her family. She maintained her nursing registration for many years after that and volunteered her nursing services locally in Ionia where she and Bob lived after their marriage in 1948. She worked as bookkeeper for many years at the family-owned business of Todd & Ross, Inc., Mobil gas station and fuel oil distributor in Ionia that was run by Bob. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Ionia for many years and enjoyed being in the church choir and quilting with other women of the church. She volunteered many hours and served on various committees in her decades as a church member. She also volunteered many hours with the Cart and Lobby Guild at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital. Marilyn is survived by five children, Tom (Barbara) Todd of Ionia, Jim Todd of Ellijay, Ga., Lee (Teresa) Todd of Maple Valley, Wash., Jay (Shawn) Todd of Royal Oak and Sally (Tim) Caverley of Rockford, Michigan; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one sister Jean (Don) Boulanger of Crystal Falls and their two daughters. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church, Ionia. There will be visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to either the First Presbyterian Church of Ionia or to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
