Portland Observer - Wed. Feb. 26, 1902

Royal Todd died of consumption at his home in this village on Monday morning of 
this week, aged 52 years. Mr. Todd formerly resided in the north part of the 
township, having resided in the village but a few months. He was a member of 
the Maccabees in which he carried certificate for $1000. Funeral services will 
be conducted from the Methodist church at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon of this 
week and burial will be made under auspices of the Maccabees.
