THE SEBEWA RECOLLECTOR, Bulletin of the Sebewa Center Association, Volume 32, October 1996, Number 2:
TODD, LUCILLE (FRIEND), 90, widow of Arthur, mother of Wendell and Larry Todd 
and the late Donna Gelina, sister of Lawrence Friend and the late Evelyn 
Courser, Beatrice Curtis, Mildred Merrill, and George Friend, daughter of Lucy 
E. (Halladay) and Ralpy E. Friend, son of Jane E. (Carpenter) and George E. 
Friend, son of Polly Ann (Meacham) and John Friend, son of Betty (Comb) and 
John Friend, Sr.
John and Polly Ann Friend settled in Sec. 25 Sebewa, on what was later known 
as the Knapp farm and is now owned by Jim and Sid Stank, in 1854.  He platted 
that portion of the village lying in Sebewa Township from his farm.  Lucille 
was born and attended school here and taught school for 35 years.  (Vol. 30, 
No. 2)
