She was born in Portland Nov. 6, 1912, the daughter of Clifford and Beulah (Durfee) Hunt. Donna was a 1942 graduate of the St. Lawrence School of Nursing and worked as a nurse at St. Lawrence Hospital, General Motors, and was a nurse manager at Olin Health Center at Michigan State University, before retiring in 1985. She volunteered as a nurse for the Ionia Area Hospice and was very comforting to families for many years, and also served on the board of directors for the Ionia Area Hospice. Donna received the Portland Citizen of the Year Award in 2000. She was a very active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the senior center, and was a reading tutor, being very giving to others. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Tony in 1996. Surviving are her children, Jon (Kathy) Tomlanovich of Charlotte, Ann Tomlanovich of Washington, Mich., Matthew (Claudia Stephens) Tomlanovich of Dallas, Texas, Mark (Lori) Tomlanovich of Petoskey; grandchildren, Anne Tomlanovich of Eugene, Ore., Alicia Tomlanovich of Whitehouse, Ohio, Tony Tomlanovich of Petoskey, Raisch Tomlanovich and Elias Tomlanovicy, both of Dallas, Texas, cousin, Betty Rau of Lansing. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Rev. Shamaun Beas, Associate Pastor Nov. 5, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Interment will take place at a later date in Portland Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.
