TOMLIAN Mrs. Bessie E. Tomlian, 81, of 1002 Lakeview Dr., passed away Thursday at Ionia Manor, where she had been a patinent for a year and a half. She was born in Howard, Kansas, April 2, 1884, the daughter of Henry and Sara (Church) Sloop. She had lived in Indiana, East Jordan, Detroit for 40 years and Mason 20 years and a short time at Lake Odessa. She married Albert Tomlian in Detroit on December 22, 1917. Surviving are her husband, six daughters; Mrs. Marian Gillette of Lake Odessa; Mrs. Gretta Cox of Fouke, Ark.; Mrs. Lucielle Kopitz and Mrs. Martha Szynkowiaz, both of Detroit; Mrs. Susanna Cowan of Camp LeJuene, N. Caroline and Mrs. Dorothy Eineder of Gladwin; six sons, John Tomlian of Lansing, Jerome of Gladwin,Thomas of Mt. Clemens, James of Mary Esther, Fla.; Francis of Detroit and Norman of Australia; 45 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother Harry Sloop of East Jordan and there sisters, Mrs. Bertha Gilkerson of East Jordan, Mrs. Frances Archer of Gladwin and Mrs. Pearl Ross of Westland. Mrs. Tomlian reposed at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel where the Rosary was recited at 7:30 Friday evening. Rev. Father Charles Dautramonth officiated at the Funeral Mass at two o'clock Saturday at St. Edwards Church with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
