The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Friday, September 5, 1919

The funeral for Mrs. Annette Tompkins was held at the residence at 439 West 
Main street, Thursday afternoon at two o’clock Rev. R. J. Slee officiating.  
The bearers were Owen Newton, Levi Marshall, A. L. Tuttle and Clinton 
Taggart.  The interment was in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Tompkins had been a resident of Ionia and the vicinity nearly all of her 
long and useful life.  She was prominent in the work of the Methodist church, 
and in many of the societies of the church and in the town, always helpful and 
energetic, a good neighbor, one of that type of citizens always ready to help 
in an emergency, efficient and diligent.
