            CECIL F. TORREY

LAKE ODESSA-Cecil F. Torrey, 80 of Lake Odessa died Friday, June 27, 1997 at the 
Heartland Health Care Center of Ionia.

He was born July 9, 1916 in Carlton Center, the son of Glenn & Katie (Brooks) 
Torrey. He graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1936. He was married to 
Maxine Hazzard on April 7, 1940 in Lake Odessa.

He lived in the Lake Odessa area all his life & was employed by the Chesapeake & 
Ohio Railroad for 38 years, retiring in 1976.

He was a member of the Lake Odessa Congregational Church, Lions Club & the 
International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge.

He is survived by his son, Norman (Susan) Torrey of Waterford; one daughter, 
Marilyn (Raymond) Possehn of Portland; six grandchildren & four great-
grandchildren; two brothers, Charles(Lucille) Torrey of Mecosta & Clare (Betty) 
Torrey of Jackson; one sister, Marie Burgess of Portland.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, on Dec. 26, 1994 & one brother, 
Chalmer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m Monday, June 30, 1997 at the Koops 
Funeral Chapel in lake Odessa with Rev. Bruce Pauley officiating. Interment will 
be in Lakeside Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Congregational Church of Lake Odessa 
or the Alzheimer's Association.
