A few weeks ago she was taken with what seemed only a severe cold, but as time progressed she appeared so ill that a physician was called who pronounced her malady to be pneumonia. Even then friends entertained some hope of her recovery, so that when it was realized that she was gone it came as a great shock. Converted at an early age, she endeavored to live a Christian life up to the end. She made her home with her sister for about twenty five years, and about fifteen years ago she joined by letter the M. E. church of Lyons, of which she remained a member until death. She was of a sunny disposition and made many friends, who remain to mourn her loss. She was the daughter of Daniel Torrey, who died June 9, 1897, and Esther P. Torrey, who passed away October 19, 1919. She is survived by three sisters and one brother; Mrs. Welfare and Wilbur of Flushing, Mrs. Wm. Boyd of Brantford, Ontario, and Mrs. C. R. Owen of Muir, where she passed away at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 19 days. Our loss is her gain and she is at rest. The funeral was at two o’clock this afternoon and interment in the Lyons cemetery.
