F. Tower Brought Home The remains of the late James F. Tower were brought home this morning on the 7:08 train from Grand Rapids, where he died last week in Blodgett hospital. The remains were taken to the Bradley mortuary, and the funeral held this afternoon from St. John’s Episcopal church. The funeral was attended at two o’clock this afternoon from St. John’s Episcopal church, which was well filled with relatives and friends. There were many flowers and the service was in charge of Rev. A. R. Mitchell who spoke of the deceased as the last of the immediate members of this old and well known family of Ionia pioneers, one of the families that saw Ionia live from its early days, and who are gradually being taken from the community. The service was very brief, the usual service of prayer being read, and the music being given by the choir of the church, after which the remains of Mr. Tower were carried to Highland Park cemetery and interred in the Tower family lot that overlooks the valley of the Grand river. The bearers were James Vosper, Fred Young, K.R.Smith, sr., K.R.Smith, jr., William F. Soule and Henry F. Voelker. Those here from out of the city to attend the service were the son, Dr. Elbert J. Tower and wife of Cedar Springs, Mrs. O. H. Tower of Lansing whose husband is now in France, and Charles H. M??, of Grand Rapids.
