The Ionia Daily Standard, Tuesday, June 18, 1895
Mamie, wife of Louis L. Tower, and daughter of Dr. T. B Allen, died at 6 
o’clock this morning, after a painful illness lasting many months.  She would 
have been 21 years of age August 3rd next.  She was married July 4th last 
year.  She was the only child of Dr. Allen, and her early death brings an 
unusual depth of sorrow to near relatives, and a feeling of sadness to a wide 
circle of young friends.  The funeral is announced to take place from family 
residence, on Saturday next at 4 p.m.; services by Rev. Dr. Thomas, rector of 
St. John’s church.
