C. Tower, 69, formerly of Belding, passed away at his home in Panama City, Florida on December 1, 2006. He was born March 23, 1936, in Belding. He graduated from Belding High School in 1954 and retired from the Air Force in 1974. He made his home in Panama City, Florida where he owned a business for several years. Mr. tower enjoyed the challenges and adventures opened up to him while in the Air Force. He was a dental technician, earned several awards for marksmanship on the pistol team and obtained his pilot’s license for small aircraft. He loved to travel, his favorite places being Alaska, Hawaii and Japan. He toured extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend. His jokes, quick wit, ready smile and big hugs will be deeply missed by his Panama City friends as well as his friends and classmates from Belding. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles; and sister, Elaine. R. C. Tower is survived by his daughter, Kathy and Allen Swindell; lifetime companion, Gerda Lee, and her children, Brian and Iris Lee of Panama City, Florida, Richard and Susie Lee of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Mary and Paul Kovac of Edwardsburg; and grandchildren, Amber Golden, Dawn, Sarah, Robyn and Jessica Lee. A memorial service was December 7, 2005 at Heritage Chapel, Panama City, Florida.
