Portland Observer – Wednesday, 11 August 1886
Hon. Osmand Tower, one of the oldest residents of Ionia, died Wednesday night 
from the effects of an apoplectic stroke.  Mr. Tower was for years president 
of the Ionia Board of Education.  He leaves a considerable property to his 
wife and three sons, one of the latter being postmaster of the city.
