Oct. 30, 2019 LARRY EDWARD TOWER Larry Edward Tower, passed away Oct. 26, 2019, from complications of diabetes. Larry was born May 7, 1951, to Don and Virginia (Booth) Tower and in his younger years was raised in Lowell near the Fallsburg Bridge. Later, part of the family moved to Ionia where Larry graduated in 1969. He was drafted into the Army in 1971 and served two years in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1973 and worked several jobs until he started to work for General Motors in 1978 where he retired 30 years later. Larry was an accomplished musician and played drums for a group for several years. Larry is survived by his wife Linda (Lich) Tower, his step-daughter Brenda (Randy) Velding and grandson Aaron who he adored. Siblings Jim (Carol) Tower, Shirley (Russ) McGinn Terry Tower and Linda (Scott) Nash; step-siblings Bob (Maggie) VanDyken Marijane (Woody) Woodbury and Mary VanDyken, widow of step- brother Tom. In-laws Shirley Lich Evelyn (Ken) David and Larry (Micky) Lich and several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; Don and Patricia Tower, Virginia and Bernard Baxter, step-brothers; Tom VanDyken, Dale VanDyken, nephew Andy Tower and brother-in-law John Lich and niece Suzy Lich. Memorial contribution can be made to any no-kill animal shelter or charitable organization of your choice. If possible, contribute to any organization that helps those in need.
