The Ionia Standard, Friday, March 10, 1905
Mrs. Daniel F. Tower, whose maiden name was Prudence Dexter, the last survivor 
of the Samuel Dexter family, and the last survivor of the original party of 63 
persons who settles Iona in April, 1833, is dead at her home in Grand Rapids, 
where she went peacefully to sleep Sunday evening.  Her age was 83.  Mrs. 
Tower, with three other Grand Rapids ladies, attended the meeting of the Ionia 
County Pioneer society tin this city in 1894.
