Funeral services for John W. Towersey, 57, of 1182 East Riverside drive will be 
conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home.  Rev. Lyail Shepard 
of Lincoln Avenue Baptist church will officiate.  Mr. Towersey was dead on 
arrival Friday morning at Ionia County Memorial hospital having suffered a 
heart attack at his home.

Born March 19, 1916, at Forest Hills he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney 
Towersey.  In June of 1962 he was married in Williamston to Helen Bloom and 
moved to Ionia in 1963.

He had worked for Ionia Iron and Metal company and was last employed by General 
Tire company of Ionia.  At one time he delivered the Detroit Free Press to the 
rural Ionia area.

Surviving are his wife, Helen; four brothers, Fred and James Towersey of 
Orleans and Gerald and Sidney Towersey of Ionia; three sisters, Dorothy 
Towersey of Lansing, Mrs. Gertrude Heppe and Shelby Towersey of Orleans.

Graveside services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Bell Oak cemetery at Bell Oak 
near Webberville.  Family will be at the funeral home Saturday and Sunday from 
2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
