Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2 Sep 1995

Gerald Towersy, 73, of Ionia died Thursday, Aug. 31, 1995.  He was born June 5,
1922 in Alma, Michigan, the son of Sidney B. and Maggie (Sanders) Towersy.  He
went on to marry Helen Mosson Feb. 4, 1950 in Ionia.  Towersy was retired from
Gen Corp in 1982 after 32 years.  He was a member of Easton United Methodist
Church.

He is survived by his wife Helen; son Michael Towersy, of Ionia; daughters: Jill
Hagen, of Grand Rapids and Kristie (Michael)Rynd, of Saranac; brothers: James
(Helen) Towersy, of Orleans and Sidney Towersy, of Ionia; sisters: Dorothy
Towersy, of Saranac, Gertrude (Harvey) Heppe, of Orleans and Shelby Towersy, of
Ohio; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by
four brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Easton United Methodist Church
with Rev. Peter VandeBrake officiating.  Interment will be in Easton Cemetery. 
Visitation will be Sunday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Monday from 1 p.m. to 3
p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.  Memorial
contributions may be made to the Easton United Methodist church or the charity
of your choice.
