Lowell Ledger, 4 Feb 1943

Benjamin E. Towl, 71, former resident of South Boston, passed away Friday night
at his home in Grand Ledge.  Funeral services were held Wednesday at two o’clock
at the Teman Funeral Home and interment was in South Boston cemetery.  Benjamin
E. Towl was born in Boston township, Ionia county, Dec. 20, 1871, the son of
Silas and Martha Towl.  He moved to Grand Ledge about thirty years ago.  He is
the last member of his family, his two sisters having passed away in 1941.  He
is survived by two nephews and a niece, Loyal Rickner of Lowell, Leslie Rickner
of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Godrey Oesch of Keene; four cousins, Miss Della Hatch
and J. C. Hatch of Lowell, Mrs. Fred Raymond of Saranac and Mrs. Roy Dean of
Rockford.  Mr. Towl was held in high esteem by his friends and neighbors both in
South Boston and Grand Ledge.
