Herbert C. Towne, 73, of 4366 Chickering Road, Orleans, died Sunday at his 
home.  He was born April 21, 1915, in Belding.  He was a veteran of World War 
II and a life member of the Lake DAV, Chapter 105.

Surviving are his wife Alice; a daughter, Mrs. James (Sharon) Arnold of Belding 
and a step daughter, Mrs. Jack (Judy) Lake of Hastings; a son, Roger Towne, of 
Noxpater, Miss.; two stepsons, Milford Bauman Jr. of Baryton and Jack Field of 
Hastings; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Lelah 
Christensen of Ionia.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Huffman Funeral Home, 
Belding, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.  Burial will be in Otisco 
Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and 
Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
