The Ionia Standard, Friday, May 19, 1905

Andrew J. Towne died of typhoid fever on Monday, at his home in Orleans.  His 
age was 59 years and six months.  He was a soldier in the war of the 
Rebellion, enlisting in Co. K, 21st Mich. Infantry, in 1862, and was 
transferred to invalid corps. In 1864.
